Isaiah 9

6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.

Words cannot capture the immense joy you have brought to this heart of mine the last 20 years. You are a gift to all who know you, son. I'm so proud of the man you are. The future awaits as you continue to pursue God's heart and all He has for you❤️

For the last month, I've been given the opportunit

For the last month, I've been given the opportunity to come into a place of God's rest like never before.

It's been a daily, hourly, minute by minute pursuit of His rest.

In that opportunity, I've chosen to fall face down before Him, listening, watching, receiving, sitting in His presence.

God’s “rest” in Hebrews 3 and 4, doesn’t mean physical rest or sleep. It's the opposite of striving. It’s the opposite of being anxious. It’s the opposite of being fearful. It's the opposite of confusion.

It’s that place of quiet confidence, believing the Lord would do what he said. Believing his presence in my life is enough. A place without striving.

Entering God’s rest doesn’t change the circumstances around us, but it changes the power those circumstances have over us.

Our fear gives them power. When we’re not afraid of them, because we’re in God’s rest, they have no power over us. We can think clearly and act from the wisdom of the Spirit.

I’m learning to enter his rest as a constant in my life.

Posture yourself to pursue it. He wants to meet you there. To sit with you wherever you are at ... physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally.

I want to say so much.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance and Never settle for the path of least resistance.

Over the years, our family has created a few ways of communicating our love for each other. When the kids were little one of us would raise three fingers for "I love you" and the other would raise four back for "I love you more".

Really missing him today.
