Creating space to unwind, unload, and be fully present is a must in our hectic schedules as wives, mamas, and entrepreneurs though seldom we can ever find it.
We need to create an intentional time in our day to STOP. Sometimes, that is not an easy task.
For the last six years, a space has been carved into my day with my commute into the city for work. It’s about an hours drive each way.
Much of my drive time has been spent singing at the top of my lungs and praying for my family, friends, and for all of our goings on in our lives.
I have cried many tears driving this path. Some tears of joy, some tears of anguish. It’s been a sweet time of intercession and preparation for my day ahead.
We will be moving in a few weeks and I’ve been thinking about the many mornings that I have dreaded making this drive….until I realized what a blessing it has been to have the two hours there and back to just STOP.
I’m actually going to miss this sacred time.
MAKING TIME
As I drove, I was thinking about how this has been MY TIME to sort through all the thoughts that are usually whirling around my head and to chat with Jesus. Just me and Him.
This was my time where I created space in my day to be silent, to listen, to cry out.
This morning, as I’m listening to the words of an amazing song by Jenn Johnson, Come Away With Me, I am reflecting on the blessings that I’ve seen over the last 15 years.
Rejoicing in all the good; possibly grieving a little as the move date gets closer.
Reflecting on the fact that we have to be intentional in creating space to dwell in the presence of God.
Space to receive all that he has for us; freedom from fear, freedom from the pressures of life, freedom from the expectations that we put on ourselves as wives, mamas, friends, and daughters.
Today, I’m thinking I might just miss the sweet time that I’ve been able to have for all these years.
This is a new season for our family. Things are changing. New spaces will be created.
WHERE IS YOUR SPACE?
Is there a place that you have, a time that you have, that is special to you where you can just sit and ponder on what Jesus is calling you to in this season of your life?
I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
Live light,
Lucia
